Van Susans

Melic are a four-piece band based in London. Their sound is derived from an eclectic blend of musicians - fusing a metal drummer, a funk-rock bassist, a classically trained pianist/saxophonist, and a singer/song-writer rock guitarist.

Formed in 2008, the band have been cutting their teeth on the London live music circuit, headlining shows at many of the city’s top venues including Under The Bridge, The Borderline, Cargo, Barfly and the historic 100 Club.

Melic have also performed at numerous UK festivals including Cornbury (Oxfordshire), Riverside (Oxfordshire), Southern Sounds (London) and The International Pop Overthrow (Liverpool). They recently toured New Zealand to critical acclaim and have had frequent radio play across stations worldwide.

Van Susans are a Pop/Rock band residing in London’s leafy suburbs. Consisting of Olly Andrews, Ed Dullaway and Holly McLatchie, the group have a burning passion for melodic harmonies and tales of love and heartbreak, accompanied by both beautiful acoustic rhythms and assertive electric guitar riffs. Van Susans are signed to the independent label Beatnik Geek Records and cite classic mid nineties/early noughties bands such as Jack’s Mannequin, Jimmy Eat World, Something Corporate, Dashboard Confessional, Jamie T and Incubus. Their line-up includes the usual lead/backing vocals, guitars, keyboards and violin played by Holly.

In the run up to their debut release, the band spent their days writing and touring relentlessly, performing at established venues like London’s Indigo 2, The Cavern Club Liverpool and Clapham’s Grand. Their debut EP, “We Could Be Scenery” was released back in May 2011 and showcases the band’s effortless ability to write killer hooks, big choruses and instantly sing-along, well crafted melodies. Their new album “Paused In The Moment” is available now from iTunes and Bandcamp.

Paused in the Moment has had airplay on BBC Radio 2 and was championed by Chris Hawkins of BBC Radio 6 Music.

The distinctive sound that makes Keston Cobblers' Club so unique comes from a desire to create contemporary, catchy music, fused with the wholesome grittiness of traditional folk.

Inspired by an upbringing surrounded by unusual instruments, folk music and country dance combined with a taste of the 21st century popular music scene, Matthew Lowe and his sister Julia grew up writing and performing music from an early age.  Their parents were fervent musicians, of both traditional and contemporary backgrounds and a home full of different instruments for them to “tinker with” and play.
